During a Germaneston miner's absence his wire awoke to find a black servant beside her armed with a huge chopper/ She seized him and shot him dead. A similar incident is reported from Krugersdorp. There, however, the husband rushed to his wife's assistance, and after a desperate struggle, with the • assistance: of some lodgers, overpowered the native.
