LABOR CONFERENCE.
MEMBERS AND THEIR' PAY
[PHESS ASSOCIATION.] SYDNEY, Feb. 12. The Labor Conference negatived a motion that Labor Members should contribute £10 annually to the funds of the Labor League in their electorate, also 2£ per cent, of moneys received as Members' commissions.
The Conference carried a motion that the Government should1 establish a furniture factory for the manufacture of furniture required in Government offices, and should also supply wage-earners ori the instalment plan. It also carried a motion"affirming the desirableness -of abolisning capital .punishment in favor of perpetual imprisonment, the. mover contending that hanging was no deterrent to crime. " ■...':■
