In the election for the Dominion ..■parliament.■ Gilbert (Nationalist) 'defeated Perrault (Liberal) -for the Athabaska district of Quebec. This is a blow to Sir Wilfrid Laurier. The issue of the campaign is the mew Canadian .Navy. The French * Canadians are opposed to the Navy. Sir Wilfrid Laurier has carried out a strenuous campaign, realising the growing power of the Nationalists m French Canada. . „ ,y. The general opinion is that ttte -outlook for : Sir W. Laurier m the province is bad.
