AUCKLAND FARMERS AND THE
L.I.P.
[PBESB ASSOCIATION.]
AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. The executive of the Auckland! branch of the New Zealand Farmers'" Union notes with oatisfaction that the* Land Bill before Parliament embodies, tho^- principle that l.i.p. tenants on ordinary Crown ana settlementslands shall have the right of purchase for cash or deferredE payment. It does not think, that'the land question will be satisfactorily settled until, with due provision to prevent aggregation, all l.i.p. tenants have the right of purchase at the original valuation, plusactual value on one per cent, allowance in. rent. It does not approvethe compulsory leasing proposals.
