SPRING CREEK ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above Board was attended yesterday by Messrs J. Gail© (chairman), 0. Reeves, W. Gifford, and F. Redwood. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs H. Cheesman and W. Murray. FINANCIAL. Accounts amounting to £51 13s, were passed for payment. I The monthly statement showed a ! debit balance of £111 14s Bd. TWO REQUESTS. Mr Stewart asked permission to put an three culverts at Marlboroughix>wn. He would like the Board to grant the pipes. This was agreed to. Mr W. Lamb waited on the Board in .reference to a ditch he had cut in iront of Mr John Squires's. He found that a culvert would have been needed, had he not made the ditch, and he asked that the Board meet him halfway in the cost of digging the ditch. I He had put the ditch in on his own initiative, but he had intended to epeak to the Board. If Mr Fairhall met him he would take the ditch right up to his property. The in- • spector said that the drain had been 'well cut and was doing good, but it opened up a big question to give assistance in cutting ditches. It was decided to hold over further considera- . tion till next meeting.of the Board. POUNDKEEPER. The poundkeeper at_ Grovetown wrote resigning his position, and the appointment of a man in his place was left over till next meeting of the Board. GENERAL. Various requirements were brought to the notice of the inspector for his ssonsideration, and the Board rose.
