[press association.] •{Received June 3, 9.40 a.m.) , SYDNEY, June 3. The price of bricks has been raised "by 4s, and is now £2 2s per thousand. The increase is greatly hampering building operations. It is said/to be due to the Wages Board's raising the wages of brickmakers. On the other hand it is pointed out that an in•crease of Is per thousand would have met this demand.

The Federal Attorney-General is inquiring into the case, and if necessary will take action against the -■brick combine.
