COUNCIL
[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received June 3, 1D.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 3. Legislative Council elections for 17 vacancies resulted in- small polling. Eight Councillors were returned unopposed. Of the nine contests only one Laborite was returned, Jones unseating Pitt for 'East Melbourne.
