[press association.] (Received June 2, 9.35 p.m.) LONDON, June 2. Router interviewed Captain Scott, who said fee hoped that the total cost «f the expedition would be within £90 000. The Mother Country nad -cbne its part. He hoped to arouse interest in the Overseas Dominions when he visited South Africa and Australia. Faffing this the funds would be insufficient to complete the expedition's work. Scientific consideration would not be sacrificed to the mere Polar dash. Dr Charcot, the French/Antarctic •explorer who arrived at Gurnsey, sent good wishes. _ The Terra Nova sailed under the •white ensign. Lieutenant Evans comananding. Many ships in the river -were dressed wish flags and streamers, and sirens saluted the Terra Nova. 'Captain Bartlett, who was present, stated that fhe American expedition Intended, to Start for the Antarctic in 3911, commencing from the Weddell 'Sea. He could not say -whether it would "be absent one or two seasons.
