A BUSINESS TALK. TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —Thirty years ago, filled witK a f!os:ro to engage in business as a side "line, 31 r G? BARY, Senr., built & small shop in Inkermann Street, Renwick, wherein he intended to stockbulk lines to exchange with farmersand others for produce, etc. Asmight be expected, the building soon proved too dimimitivo for the tradewhich grew so rapidly in a young district, and consequently more commodious premises were erected irt High Street, on which site is the business carried on by us to-day. During, the lengthy period referred to we have seen many ups and downs. Many stores have been started and closed, but OUR business has flourished. We cover a very wide district, as our carts run over country averaging forty miles from the base. Our deliveries, which are punctual and regular, are managed by none Inn: ibo best assistants, who deal courteously with our customers, and whe in return are treated well. We do not hesitate to say that to-day we have the best general storekeeping business in Marlborough, and that, vre- intend to keep it so. We are rot selfi-h.. but delight in seeing our rivals prosper as ourselves; but where TE MUST WIN lies in the facts that: (1) Our goods are of standard quality, which is of the first importance: (2> these goods are bought in the '-best markets and for cash, therefor© cheaply; (3) being well bought they are half sold before we handle them. It is not necessary for us to flourish oud trumpets, nor do we desire snch • but we wish to state that we can do double the present business with very ittle additional expense, and ate therefore after your numerous readers' business. Despite rumours to the contrary, our delivery van will run weekly to Havelock Suburban and other districts.—We are, etc., J. BARY AND SON, Renwick, April 20, 1910.
