NELSON, March 14. The heavy north-easterly gale and high spring tides caused the highest «ea on the city foreshore for many years. The Port Road, lower parts of The Wood, and part of Washington Valley are under water. It is beiieved that .considerable damage has been done at the Port, and some boats are out rescuing poultry and removing goods in The Wood.
