CULWULLA 111. WINS THE SECOND RACE.

(Received Mar. 13, o p.m.) MELBOURNE, Mar. 13

For the second race the course was triangular, seven miles each way. The Sayonara was the quicker off the mark, but Culwulla 111., lying more to windward, forged ahead. After the race had been a few minutes in progress, the wind, which was light at the start, freshened. The Culwulla, beautifully handled, continued to improve her position, and rounded the first buoy 4 minutes 15 seconds ahead of the Sayonara. The Victorian yacht made up, but lost ground in the second stretch, passing the second buoy four minutes behind the Culwulla. On the run home, with the wind behind her, the Sayonara showed to better advantage than earlier in the race, but could not make up the lost ground, the Culwulla beating her home by about three minutes. The winner's time was 3 hours 17 minutes.
