In a letter to the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, *}« secreary of the Clevedon Club {Mr J. JL. Wilson) epresses the opinion that wekas do more than any other natural enemy to keep pheasants down. He had frequently found pheasants' nests with the eggs sucked, where no hawks could find the nest, and he also found wekas jn the act.
