GERMAN VIEW OF BRITISH TROOPS.

Germans find it difficult to take the British Army seriously ,and have ridiculed the statement made in connection with the recent manoeuvres, that the British soldier is an. excellent man at his work. The National Zeitung, in an article on the British Army maneevres^ writes: "With all modesty it must be said that in these sceptical times we do not believe in miracles, nor do we believe in such a miracle as a. sudden change of character in the British Army. The praise bestowed on the British troops is obviously intended for foreigners to read, but the British must not be surprised if we do not regard it seriously."
