The Band Contest Committee met last night, the following members be- • ing present: Messrs' J. R. Sharp (in. the chair), F. W. Dodson, E. Rose, H. Pope, W. B. Fraser-Tytler, F. ' .Bull, A. Sowman, V. Holdaway, W. ' <T. Churchward, G. Griffiths, E. Parser and T. Mitchell (Secretary.) Coates and Mer.vyn; jHortoh, and resulted in a win for the latter. Horton is reported to have been in excellent form, and averaged fours right through the 36 holes'^ with the exception of one, which he did not complete. Horton also won the club's weekly handicap, going round in 72, and ending three tip on bogey from two behind scratch.
