ROBINSON—BREWER

There was a large, attendance at Wesley Church this,afternoon, the oc^ (casion being the., marriage of Mr .Robert Robinson, third son> of Mr ,R, Robinson, of "Qaklarids,'' Pahiatua, to Miss Daisy Maude Brewer, fifth daughter of Mr Robert Brewer';- of "Bewdley," Blenheim. The nuptial knot was tied by the Rev. T. R. Richards, superintendent minister of the Blenheim Methodist circuit. Miss Mary -Lucas acted ab organist,' in the absence of Miss Rose v The usual wedding hymn, "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden," was sung at the commencement of" the service, and the happy couple left ■ the church to the familiar strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March- The bride, who was. given away by her father,., wore a lovely Empire gown of white'"chiffon .taffeta-, with tucked bodice j' and yoke' of Brussels net, trimmed with silk insertion, tassels, and French knots of silver, and with a full-length train. The orthodox wreath of orange-blos-soms surmounted a veil of silk net, vtastef ully embroidered with rosebuds, the work and gift of her,sjster..>,,Slie. also carried a choice bouquet, and wore a gold bangle, : set with four large amethysts, family jewels, the gift of her mother. The bridesmaids were , four in number, Miss Lily Brewer, sister of the bride, Miss Annie Robinson, sister of the? bridegroom, and two little "fairies" the Misses Madge and Rita Gawith, cousin sof the bride. All the bridesmaids wore white, the two seniors being attired in Empire frocks of Indian lawn, trimmed with embroidery and insertion, and sashes of green and pink : respectively. They also wore beehive hats of green, with pink trimming, and carried pretty bouquets. The "wee tots" looked Tery sweet and dainty in their soft whrfce dresses, and 'lace bonnets, trimmed with pink rosettes. They carried shepherds' crooks, adorned with pink _ ribbons. TVErs Brewer, mother of the bride, wore a handsome dress..of : black chiffon, taffeta, and black bonnet, trimmed with tulle and violets. Mr Fred Tiinnicliffe made an efficient "best man, 7' being ably supported in his onerous position by Mr Edwin Brewer,, brother of. the bride, as/groomsman.-. The I bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleeve-links, suitably inscribed. The bridegroom presented the bride with . a diamond and amethyst cross. To the senior bridesmaids he gave gold wish-bone brooches, set with amethysts. and to the tiny "fairies" gold ."shoe" pins. After the ceremony an adjournment was made to Wesley Hall,, where a reception was "held, A large number of guests were present and did ample justice to the good things provided. The wedding-cake was a handsome "three-decker," surmounted by two hearts, inscribed with the initials of the bride and bridegroom and decked with ribbon streamers, silver horseshoes, and other suitable emblems. Miss Elsie Gawith presented the bride withj a floral horse-shoe. The bride's travelling-dress ' was a navy blue tailor-made'costume, and large brown "Merry Widow" hat, trimmed with browif silk and shaded roses. She also wore a handsome set of furs, a present from one of her sisters. Mr and Mrs itobinsott left for'Picton, en route for the North Island, by 'the 4 p.m. train. The presents . were numerous and costly, and the young people received many tokens of remembrance in the shape of telegrams, from absent friends. ,- ■{'
