AUSTRALIA BEATEN.

NEW ZEALANDERS' FIRST VICTORY. [rRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received June 13, 5.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 13. The professional "All Blacks" defeated Australia by 19 points to 11. There were about 10,000 spectators present. The game was not conspicuous for brilliancy. The blacks lost the services of J. Spencer through an accident, House filling his place. The blacks' tackling showed a great improvement on their previous displays, but there was evidence of staleness on both sides. The local men showed a want of combination. The visitors had decidedly the better of the first half, and obtained three tries, none of which were converted. In the second half Australia attacked with vigour, and levelled matters with a try which was converted. The good combination of the blacks, however, put them in the lead again with 14 to 8. Australia next added a try, and then immediately were kept on the defensive almost to the end of the spell, the blacks adding another try, with added pointSj and the local team failing to increase their score. The whistle sounded with | the blacks victorious by 19 to 11.
