'.; . . [PEESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 19. At the Magistrate's- Court to-day John Grey was charged with assaulting his father, also named John Grey, with intent to do him bodily injury. After hearing evidence the charge was reduced to one of common assault, and Grey was fined £4; Grey was in the habit of getting drunk. He came home in that condition, and when remonstrated with' by his father he pushed the old man against a. bedstead and broke a rib. He was said to be a good enough son when sober. Old Mr Grey and his wife are old age pensioners.' , . . -. '
