DESTRUCTION AT MARTON

[PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] MRATON, May 19: An extensive fire at Marton last ni^ht destroyed Messrs Harris and La'dley's, solicitor's office, the premises of Harris and Son's, land agents, the Salvation Army barracks, O. E. bribbons's cordial factory, and the large stables owned by Brice, Broad and Co. The, iive .started in Harris and Ladley's oliiee, and aided by a strong wind quickly spread to ( the adjoining premises. The brigade did splendid work, and succeeded in saving many, buildings. . ■ > The insurances are as follows: — Gibbqns's cordial factory, £350^ on building and stock in Alliance, £100 on new machinery in the Liverpool, /London and Globe; Harris and Ladley had £75 on contents in the Royal; Harris ond Son, £50 on job printing plant and effects' in the Norwich Union, and £150 on the-building-in' the United. Brice,-Broad and Company's stables, valued at £300, were insured for £75 in j the Commercial Union. There was no insurance on a large stock of manures and farm produce.
