The "position of the senior championship in Wellington at present is thatPdneke is leading, having won each of the four matches played, with a total. of 102 points for and only three against. The matches played ony resulted as follows: — Petohe defeated Athletic by six points to three. Porieke won from Old Boys '-.by.'27 points to nil. Southern succumbed to Oriental by 25 points to three. Wellington beat Victoria College by 18 to nil, and Melr^ose were tod"; good for St.^J'ames, the scores be.ing Melrose IS- paints, St. Jkines three. ' Poneke now have, a leatt of two points for the championship. < ';
