ENGiNE RUNS OVER A CHILD,
' [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] . WELLINGTON, May 18. Three houses were burned at Oriental Bay yesterday afternoon through clothes catching fire before a grate. The houses, being on, the hill, the brigade had difficulty in getting water up. The owners are Pownall, O'Brien and Salter. A fourth house was damaged. The insurances amount to. £2760.' -
■ Two firemen were injured by a falling chimney, and on the way to the scene the engine rair over a child and broke its thigh. •
