FATAL COLLISION WITH A CART.

NEW PLYMOUTH, May 17. A young man named Denis Redmond died in the hospital on Saturday night as the/ result of injuries sustained in a collision with a cart when riding a bicycle across the Waitara bridge. He was a deserter from a steamer lately loading frozen meat at Waitara, and had no relatives in the Dominion.

A farmer named John Hing, of Kaimiro, was admitted to the hospital -to-day, sufEering from gunshot wounds accidentally inflicted by his son when ~ out shooting together. He is making satisfactory progress.
