[press association.] (Received May 15, D.3 a.m.) / LONDON, May 14. The executors of Charles Dickens,
of Dickens and Jones, drapers, were awarded £10,345 damages against Arthur Ellis, a Bond 'Street; dealer, owing to €he latter's fraudulent misrepresentation in connection with sales of china.
Dickins, who was an octogenarian, spent £130,000 upon Sevres and ]sresden ware. After liis death it was discovered that the articles were largely forgeries. In one case he paid Ellis £1200 for a piece worth £10. '
Mr Justice Grantham hinted that a criminal prosecution of Ellis would follow.
A civil action against another
dealer is pending,
