[PUESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. At the Addington market to-day there was again a good entry of stock and a large attendance. Fat cattle showed a further fall in prices; store sheep sold rather better; fat lambs were firmer, and there was a rise in fat sheep, especially in ewes. rigs also showed some improvement. The entry of store sheep showed a further reduction in number, and included several lines from the Chatham Islands, fully one-third of the offerings being outside sheep. The balance of the yarding was made up of wethers ewls andlambs of mixed quality. There was a better tone in the market, inquiry being more general, and there was a goof clearance, though prices were not beyond those of late Sles Two-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes'sold up to 14s lid and four and six-tooth to 15s: forward wethers lls to lls 10d, and smaller 10s to 10s 6d; ewe lambs lls to 12s; a few small lines oFmixed sexes 7s 6d to 9s, and culls NhLr?*?s flarge entry of fat lambs of good to prime quality. There was agood demand for export, andprices we firmer by about 3d per heact. The range for freezers was 12s bd to 14s, lighter sorts down to lls 6d; heavy tegs to 14s 9d. . . A poor lot of store cattle was ottered. Three-year heifers made £4 ss, and dry cows 17s 6d to £2 10s. Good dairy cows were in demand, prices ranging from £3 10s to £10 7s 6d. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 295 head, there being an improvement in quality as compared with late sales, a number of station lines being included in the offerings. The demand was again very dull, and sales were difficult to effect even at a further reduction of Is per 1001b. A considerable number were, therefore, passed in. Steers made £6 17s 6d to £10 2s 6d, heifers £5 to £7 7s, and cows £4 5s to £B—equal to 17s 6d to 19s for prime, 15s to 17s for medium, and 13s to 14s 6d for cow and inferior beef per lOOlbs. There was a small yarding of veal calves, the bulk being of extra good quality. These sold at 4s 6d to 60s, according to size and condition.

There was a medium entry of pigs. 'All classes met with an improved demand. Choppers sold up to £4 10s, heavy baconers 57s to 635, and lighter 50s to 56s—equal to 4£d to 4j|d per lb 5 heavy porkers 38s to 465, and lighter 32s to 36s—equal to 6d per lb ; medium stores 30s to 345, smaller 22s to 28s, and weaners 10s 6d to 14s ou.
