WEDDING BELLS.

WHITE-JORDAN

There was a large gathering at Wesley Church at 2 p.m. to-day, the occasion being the marriage of Mr Leonard Arthur White, fourth son of Mr Matthew White, of Numurkah, Victoria, to Miss Ellen Ada Jordan, eldest daughter of Mr William Jordan, of "Glenferrie," Blenheim. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. T. R. Richards, assisted by the Rev. E. P. Blamires. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of cream silk voile, with yoke and sleeves of transparent net, and the orthodox wreath of orange-blossoms. Her veil, which was the work of a member of her Bible class, was especially beautiful, a dainty design of autumn roses embellishing each corner. She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister, Miss Ruby Jordan, and cousin. Miss Mentiplay. Both wore dainty dresses of Wedgewood blue, Miss Jordan's hat matching her dress, and Miss Mentiplay's being of black. Mr G. M. Spence was best man, and Mr N. Jordan groomsman. At the conclusion of the ceremony the "Wedding March" was played by Miss Rose. An adjournment was then made to Wesley Hall, where a reception was held, a large number of relatives and friends being present. The wedding cake, which was made by Mr F. G. Daniels,, was a veritable work of art. It was decorated with two horse-shoes, enclosing the initials of the bride and bridegroom, and richly adorned with silver fern leaves, orange blossoms and white ribbon, all in excellent taste. The happy couple left by this afternoon's train for Picton, en route for Nelson, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling dress was of wine-colored cloth, with black picture hat. In addition to the presents already referred to in our columns, Mr and Mrs White received many tokens of goodwill, including a handsome lamp from the teachers of the Methodist Sunday School.
