LETTERS AND LETTER CARDS. Letters within New Zealand, Id for the first 4oz or fration thereof, and id for each succeeding 2o^s or fraction thereof. For United States of America, Id for each oz. or fraction thereof (to include Pago Pago and Hawaiian Islands, Porto Rico and Alaska). For United Kingdom, British I*cssessions and other places enumerated in schedule at Post Office, Id for eacll oz. or fraction thereof : for places* not named, 2sd for each oz. and l^d for each succeeding oz. NEWSPAPERS. Within the Dominion, id for each newspaper ; to Australia, South Sea Islands, Canada, etc. each newspaper, Id ; to United Kingdom, Id by direct steamer, by other routes Id for first Boz. and id each additional 2oz. To other countries, for the first 4oz. Id, each additional 2oz. . id. The' weight of newspapers for' transmission to Australia and British New Guinea at the Id rate is restricted to 20ozs for each copy ; for each lOozs or fraction thereof additional, id. The sender of a registered article may obtain acknowledgment of its due receipt on payment in advance of 2id. BOOKS AND PRINTED PAPERS All places, id for each 2ozs. REPLY COUPONS. As a means of enabling the sender of a letter addressed to a place abroad to prepay the postage on a reply1, the Department issues reply coupons on payment of. a fee of 3d. These coupons may be exchanged for a postage stamp of the value of 2id in any country which adopts the scheme. PARCEL POST. Maxmum weight, 111b : greatest length, 3ft 6in ; greatest length and girth combined, 6ft. Inland, 4d for first Ib, and 2d for each succeeding 1b or fraction thereof. United Kingdom, not exceeding 81b, Is j not exceeding 71b. 2s ; not exceeding 111b, 3s. Australian States, 8d for fires lb, and 6d for each succeeding 1b or fraction thereof up to 111b. PATTERNS AND SAMPLES. Inland, not ; exceeding 2ozs, id ; over 2ozs, same as for other places. All other places, not exceding 4ozs, id ; every aditional 2ozs, id. POST CARDS. Inland, single id, reply Id ; all other places, single Id, reply 2d. ■ TELEGRAMS. Ordinary, 12 words for 6d, each succeeding word id ; urgent, double the above rates. MONEY ORDERS. British Postal Orders for fixed sums from 6d up to 20s may be procured at the principal Money Order OfEcos in New Zealand.
