WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.

The Wai rail Road Board met this morning in Messrs Griffith and Son's office, when there were present: Messrs R. F. Goulter (Chairman), J. Bell, Boyce, Hammond, Adams, and Teschmaker. ' Tho Chairman reported that m connection with the Woodhouse Exchange, he had arranged with Mr Austin to prepare plans showing the road leading up to McCallum's Valley, which was given by the late Mr Godfrey, with the object of exchanging the old road for the new road line! The Chairman's action was en--dorsed. The Inspector was instructed to arrange for the expenditure of thirds and fourths, which were due on January 30; which totalled £62 19s Bd. It was decided that the request -contained in a letter from Mrs G. B. Uichardson on March 3rd, in reference to the exchange of the road running through' Glen Morgan, for the roail line, be acceded to,, providing the parties interested bore the cost. . The Inspector was empowered to liavo the groin at the Langley Dale IFord .lengthened. The Chairman was instructed to interview Mr Duthie with regard to the procuring of gravel for the Omaka district. " _

The Inspector was asked to submit a report as to the cost of metalling half a mile of the Leafield—Avondale- Road, and half a mile of .the Avon—Hopae Road. : It was resolved that a two-rail fence be erected on the outside of the AVaihopai cutting, and that four new planks be placed on the Avon Bridge. Tho Board rose at 12.30 p.m.
