BOXING.

LANG CHALLENGES BURNS

The Melbourne Leader of February 20 has the following:—

Bill Lang on Monday telegraphed to Tommy Burns, who is in Western Australia fulfilling his engagement with Mr Harry Rickards, asking for a return match, to be fought in Melbourne. If Burns consents, Mr John Wren will, it is understood, be willing to arrange the contest. It is unlikely that Burns will fight again unless he fights Johnson in England or America.

Lang's challenge to Burns was received at Perth on Tuesday afternoon. Th« Canadian when asked if he intended to accept it, gave a reply in the negative. He stated, ."I am done with boxing, unless Johnson gives me another fight."
