BLENHEIM RAM AND EWE FAIR

Dalgety and Company, Limited, report that they held their annual ram and ewe fair at the Co-operative iSaleyards yesterday. Their entry prised 325 rams and 5200 sheep. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. Rams were in sympathy with,markets elsewhere, somewhat lower all round than for some years past, but a good clearance was made at the following prices :•— ' ' . : Linoolns: On account D. Corriedales: On account H. ,T. | Little, Harwarden, to 2£ guineas, j, Aged merinos to f guinea. . s The sheep yarded were of mixed cross and half bred ewes, wethers, ajpd lambs, with a few pens of fat ewes and shorn lambs. Prices were a trifle easier except for young ewes, which met with spirited competition, Wethers were dull of sale, but the total yarding,except a few small -peps, were sold. Canterbury buyers were in attendance, but local requirements made, prices too high for them to drive South; they, however, secured a few nice lines of young ewes. Prices ruled as follows: Two-tooth wethers 9s 6d to 10s 4d, four and six-tooth wethers 11s to 12s; four-tooth wethers, fat, 12s sd; store lambs 8s to 9s lid; forward lambs 11s; fat lambs, shorn, 9s 6d; merino ewes ss; two, four, and six-tooth crossbred ewes 14s 8d to 15s 7d; halfbred two-tooth ewes 14s to 15s 6d; S.M. ewes 10s 3d to 12s sd; aged ewes Is 9d to 7s 4d; aged merino ewes Is 6d.

Roinney-Lincoln-, full-mouth, Wethers: Fats 10s 8d to 12s 3d; half and crossbred, two-tooth, 10s; two and four-tooth 8s lid; crossbred, four-tooth to full-mouth, mixed, 10s. Lambs: Fats lls Id to 12s 2d; forward, mixed sexes, 9s sd; stores, halfbred, mixed sexes, 6s 9d to 8s Id; half-bred ewes lls; crossbred, mixed sexes 7s 9d to 10s. Rams: English Liecester, 1-shear, 2 to 4 guineas; three-^hear 2 guineas; four-^shear 1 to 1| guineas; Romneys, one-shear, 2^ to 3^ guineas; threeshear, 2 guineas. The Company's forthcoming sales will be held at Seddoii on Wednesday next, 10th inst., and1 at Flaxbouime on the day iollowing.
