PERSONAL.

Mr Macey has received a telepram from the Hon. C. H. Mills conveying the gratifying intelligence that he has been appointed to the Legislative Cowncil. Mr Mills states that he will be pleased to still watch over the public interests of the Dominion, and Marlborough.

Mr Harold White, the eldest son of Mr J. J. White, of this town, left for Wellington yesterday by the Te Anau, en route for Christchurch, where he enters the Canterbury University. Mr White will be very much missed in the fields of cricket and football, having been one of the foremost members of the High School cricket club, and a prominent and clever three-quarter for the Central Football Club. Although playing in junior grade football his claims for senior grade rank were always appreciated, and it is to be hoped he will have in Canterbury the chance to shine in senior football, which was denied him in his own town. Twentyone years of age, Mr White, has won his matriculation and general solicitor's knowledge, and will now study for his degree. He has hosts of wellwishers in Blenheim for his success.
