SEDDON STOCK SALE.

The N.Z. Loan, and Mercantile Agency Company report holding their usual stock sale at Seddon yesterday. Their portion of the yarding comprised fat wethers only, the pens placed before , buyers containing probably some of the primest lines that have i been on any occasion yarded from the | Seddon district, and buyers readily : responded, the competition being good j and bidding brisk for all their offerings. They had the distinction of topping all previous prices this season ; with a much admired line of half and crossbred wethers, yarded from the , flock of Mr R. Tregoning. The selling of ibis pen occasioned* unusual i interest, Mr James Draper securing the line at 21s sd. Fat crossbred wethers, lighter sorts, brought 18s to 18s 3d. The Company's next stock sales are at their Blenheim yards oh 23rd. Inst., and at Seddon on 7th October.

! Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report ; holding their monthly stock sale yes- : terday at Seddon, when there was a good entry of fat wethers and hoggets. The whole of the yarding of i sheep were in the fat pens, and cerj tainly were superior on the whole to j anything offered in former years at | this time of the season, and reflected I credit on the vendors for the way they j were finished. Horses were hard to ! sell. Prices ruled as follows:—Fat • ewes 12s 6d, fat hoggets 11s 7d to 12s, ! prime butchers' wethers 17s 3d to 18s ; horses, aged m#re in foal £5, draught • foal £5 ss, 2-year-old draught fillies :£8 to £12 7s 6d, aged hack 11s, aged draught mare £11; cattle, weaners 17s, yearlings 27s 6d, 2-year-old steers £2 ..ss; sheep dog £5 ss.
