A COOL VISITOR.
■ A respectable man went into a shop and asked.: . . "Phwat's the price of your whisky a gallon?" * "I have .some very good at ten shillings," said the landlord. " Can you let me have a sample o it?" ,*,-.■ He put about a wineglassful in a tumbler, thinking the customer might want some water to it. The man looked at it in the glass, smelt it, and drank about half of it. "Ay," he said, "that's verra good. Have, ye naething a wee bit stronger?" The landlord said he oould let him hav,e some unreduced at twelve shillings. , The man asked for a sample of it, and liked it better, then said: "I think they would make a good whisky if they were mixed." He then poured the. contents of one tumbler into the other, 'and drank the lot, saying: " That's a great improvement. IJI call in and see ye some other day."
