LONDON, May 7. • Mr Asquith presented the Budget to-night.

The estimated expenditure is £152,----889,000 and t !k> revenue £157,770,000. Mr Asquith vail appropriate the realised surplus of £4,776,000 chiefly for old-age pensions, beginning over 70 years, at £26 per annum, and a combined pension for married couples of £39.

New taxes on sugar will be reduced by one-half.
