Thos. Branton pleaded guilty to-day to being drunk in a public place. It was stated that there was a prohibition order out against the man, and the Magistrate was of opinion that the charge should be amended to a breach of an oi"der. A similar charge against Daniel Reardon was called, under the .same circumstances. Both cases were adjourned until midrday, to allow of the charges being amended. On taking his seat at noon the Magistrate fined both men 40s, with costs 7s, in default fourteen days' imprisonment.
