LORD TWEEDMOUTH AND THE ADMIRALTY.

Lord Tweedmouth, addressing the' Britannia Naval College cadets, explained that his relinquishment of the portfolio of First Lord of the Admiralty was not due to any maladministration, but was made for purely, political reasons, Mr Asquith rightly desiring that the two great spending departments, the War Office and the Admiralty, should have their heads in the House of Commons [The new First Lord of the Admiralty is Mr McKenna, who was formerly President of the Board of ideation.]
