Germany is beings Searched for a blackmailer who resorted to terrible threats to extort hundreds of thousands of pounds from a Munich millionaire manufacturer named Ludowici. -t •■•'■ , . The millionaire received *a letter a few days ago signed Josef Maier, declaring that unless :he deposited £5000 at an appointed spot and refrained from asking the police to catch the writer of the letter he would undergo the following experience:— "To convince you of my seriousness," said the writer, "I shall cause the death of one of your children. I shall then make fresh money demands from you, but this time for £100,000. If you still remain obdurate I shall remove another of your children, demanding each time an additional £50j000, and I- shall pursue this method until your entire family is wiped out and your resistance broken." .'
