Calculated for New Zealand Mean Time. D. H. M. J'irst Quarter ... 11 1 22 a.m.: Full Moon ... ... 19/1 6 a.m. Last Quarter -•■'...' 27 2 31 a.m. The Marine Department has been advised that the Government steamer Tutanekai sailed from the Bluff on Wednesday morning for Picton. She should arrive at r her destination today. Within the last week the Union S.S. Company's turbine steamer Loongana has broken her own record between the west pile- light and the Gellibrand light, in Port Phillip (says the Argus). When the Loongana arrived at Melbourne three years ago, on her trial between these lights her time was sixty-six minutes going and sixty-five minutes returning. She has cut the "going" time down to sixty-five minutes, and on Wednesday morning she came up (the " return " journey) in s|xty-thr6e minutes. This is a great performance for shallow water. The distance is twenty and a half aniles.
