OMAKA LOAN PROPOSAL.
CARRIED AT THE POLL
The poll of the ratepayers of the Omaka Road Board on the proposal to borrow £3000 for the erection of and repairs to certain bridges was held yesterday. Booths were open at Blenheim, Rcnwick, Springlands, j and Redwoodtown. The result of the poll was as follows: — For the proposal 145 **i Against the proposal ... 48 | Majority in favour ... 97 As a three-fifths majority of the i voters is required to carry a proposal, the scheme has been approved by the ratepayers. The voting in the individual booths was as follows:—Blenheim, 86, against 23, informal 3, total 112; Renwick, for 30, against 6, informal 1, total 37; Springlands, for 22, against 17, informal 2, total 41; Redwoodtown, for 17, against 2, informal 0, total 19.
