PICTON.

(Our Own Correspondent.)

Tuesday

A very pleasant social evening was spent by the members of the " All Black" entertainers and their friends in Holy Trinity schoolroom to-night. After a- selection by the orchestra, Dr. Redman, in a happy speech, thanked oil those who had in any way helped to make the recent entertainment by the "All Blacks" the success it was. Everyone connected with it had worked well, but special praise was due to Conductor A. L. Bush, to whose untiring efforts the success of the -ne orchestra and choruses was due. The doctor then, on behalf of the " All Blacks," presented Mr Bush with a silver-mounted baton, suitably inscribed. Mr Bush, who was completely taken by surprise, having responded, Dr. Redman said he had another pleasant little duty to perform, and presented Miss Edie Chambers, the clever little pianiste, with a memento from her "All Black" friends in the shape of a pretty gold bangle. Mr Chambers thanked the company for their gift, on behalf of his daughter. A pleasant hour or so was then spent, songs being sung by Miss Dawkins, Mrs Nicol, and Messrs Robinson, Lovo, Mc'lntosh, Oxley, Manning, and others. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies. Altogether a very pleasant evening was spent, and one and all wished that the "All Blacks" and their friends might often meet in a similar manner. A grand orchestral concert by the Picton Orchestral Society and friends is now in rehearsal.
