NAPIER, Sept. 25. Dominion Day will be observed here as a general holiday. The proceedings will open with a Volunteer parade, followed by the reading of the declaration by the Mayor, after which the &c'jiool children and cadet corps will parade and salute the flag. For the afternoon amusement is provided m a foot-ball tournament. At night a portion! of the town will be illuminated by a brilliant electric light display by the Napier Gas Company, who recently installed very complete and powerful plant for supplying electric light and power to the blocks of bnildmgs adjacent to their town office. Comprehensive arrangements have been made for the illuminations by the company at their own cost. It is intended that the Masonic, Criterion and Caledonian Hotels shall have electric light installed by the company.
