COW ADOPTS LITTER OF PIGS.

The New York Herald says:—How his fine Jersey cow suddenly ceased giivng her daily supply of milk and how his pigs grew fat when they apparently were eating nothing was a mystery that has just been solved by a well-known suburban farmer. At the very time the cow began to reduce her contribution -?to the family table the pigs declined to eat the food provided for them. The "farmer studied the two questions without connecting them, and then it dawned on him that he would better keep watch and see where the trouble lay. Going into the barnyard early one morning he saw the pigs industriously sucking: his cow. He watched them until the milk was all gone. The pigs grunted their satisfaction and the Jersey blinked dreamily. She gave every evidence of animal affection for her self-appointed wards and seemed to think she was performing a maternal duty.
