Reports from Spanish sources at Mogador and Mazagan state that the two Sultans are merely acting in collusion with a view to deceiving Europe and pacifying the tribes.

Emissaries traversed Mazagan bearing the respective Sultans' letters.

Abdul Aziz has agreed that Mulai Hafid shall become Sultan of Morocco in the event of Abdul Aziz's predeceasing him.
