MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
[press association.]
CRRISTCHURCH, July 26
At the Magistrate's Court to-day John Goran was committed for trial, charged Avith the theft of £17 8s 6d from a fellow-lodger in a boardinghouse, named Drake, who went to bed on Wednesday night leaving the money in Ms pocket-book. The money was gone in the morning, besides a gold scarf-pin from his tie. The pin was found in Goran's possession, and also some notes, which he is not likely to have earned, having quite recently finished a sentence of five months' imprisonment.
