[press association.] (Received J-&*js« f£& The amount of wool sold to home buyers was 82,000 bales; to,the Continent 55,000 bales; to America 5000 bales; held over 24,000 bales, including 19,500 bales of New5 Zealand, Comparedywith the May .closing rates, best merinos suitable for tlie American trad© were fully 5 per cent, dearer; average sorts were slightly m sellers favour; short faulty, especially scoureds, id to Id lower; good greasy crossbreds, firm and unchanged; shabby faulty sorts declined 5 to 10 per cent.; slipes (superabundant supply), finest and coarsest declined |d to Id, medium Id. ; . .. Lamb —Best merinos unchanged; faulty merinos and New Zealand crossbreds declined £d to Id. The average price realised tor the fleece portion ot the undermentioned clips was: Ngakonui ll^d, Homewood lid.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., are in receipt of the following cable advice from their London office, dated yesterday :— Wool —The sales closed firmly this day. As compared with last sales' closing rates, prices are lower about par to 5 per cent, for merino lambs and fine crossbred, greasy merino inferior and scoured merino" super. Prices are lower about 1\ per cent, to 10 per cent, for crossbred lambs, medium coarse scoured crossbred and medium and coarse crossbred slipe and faulty wool. Since close of last- sales, prices are lower by Id per lb for greasy crossbred, medium and coarse in faulty i condition. ,
