BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.
DUNEDIN,-July 24. At the Burnside stock market t<>day 3040 sheep were penned,. including a good few pens of exceptional quality. The entry proved more than sufficient of requirements of the trade, and ias freezing operators were not buying so readily as last week values ruled from Is to 2s per head lower. Best sorts brought to 255, extra heavy from 26s to 27s 9d, medium to good 20s to 225, light 16s to 19s, best ewes up"to'2ls, light 12s to 14s
Lambs.—s3o wer© penned, the bulk very suitable for export purposes. For all such there was good competition, late- prices being fully maintained. B|st lambs 16s to 18s 6a, extra heavy t<s2os, me'drnm to good 14s to 15s 6d. .3,Pigs.—160 were yarded, there being a full entry of porkers and baconers, these selling slightly easier than lastweek. > Suckers and slips were not in good supply, and sold at exceptionally high prices. Quotations: Suckers 13s to 15s, slips 17s 6d to 20s, stores 25s to 30s, porkers 38s to 435, light baooners 45s to 535, heavy 55s to 63. Cattle.—There was a fair yarding of good quality and best cattle sold at from 15s to 20s per head higher than last week. Quotations: Best bullocks to £11 ss, medium to good £10 to £10 10s, ordinary £8 10s to £9, best ' heifers and cows £6 10s to £7 10s.
