POSTAL REGULATIONS.

Letters and Letter-cards.—lnland Id for each 4oz. or fraction thereof. The United Kingdom, British possessions, etc., Id for each |oz. or fraction thereof. All other places 2Jd for each £oz. or fraction fchereoi. Note.—-•'lnland" includes the Cook Islands—namely, Raratonga, Mangaia, Atiu, ututaki, Mitiaro, Mauke (Parry), and LTervey (Manuae); also Palrnerston (Avarua), Niue (Savage), Pukapuka (Danger), Kakaanga, Manahiki, Penrhyn (Tongareva),and Sawarrow Islands. Post-cards. —All places : Single, Id j reply, 2d. Commercial Papers. —Town (for accounts &c, only) id if not exceeding Joz., or Id for the first 4oz. or fraction thereof, and \d for each succeeding 2oz. or fraction thereof. Inland, Id for the first 4oz. or fraction thereof, and s }d for each succeeding 2oz. or fraction thereof. In all other places 2id for the first 10 oz., and id for each succeeding 2oz. or raction thereof, Books and Printed Papers.—All places Id for each 2oz. or fraction thereof. Pattern and Sample Packets. —Inland: Not excteeding 2oa, £d ; over 20z., as for " All other places." All other places: Not exceeding 40z., Id ; every additional 2oz. or fraction thereof, £d. Newspapers.—Town and inland, id each. Australia, South Sea Islands, Canada, and many other British possessions, Id each. United Kingdom, Id each. All other places, Id each if not exceeding 40z., and Id additional for every succeeding 2oz. or fraction thereof. Eegistration, 3d for all places. , Parcels.—lnland, 4d for the firatllb., and 2d for each succeeding lib.; Aus- , tralian States, 8d for the first lib., and 6d for each succeeding lib.; for U.K., Is up to 3lbs, 2s up to 71bs, 3s up to 11 lbs for all other countries the charges vary Eegistration.—The fee for all places is 3d. GENERAL REGULATIONS. Letters.—Letters not fully prepaid or posted wholly unpaid are charged double the deficienoy at the prepaid rate on delivery. No letter n: ay exceed 2ft. in length or Ift. in width or depth. | Letters containing valuables must be registered. Late-fee Letters, etc., must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. POST-CARDS, All places, each single post-card, Id ; each reply-paid post-card, 2d. Post-cards must be sent unclosed. Excepting stamps for prepayment and an address-label, nothing whatever must be joined or attached to a post-card for a place beyond the Colony. For delivery within the Colony receipt-stamps or slips of paper may be affixed to post-cards, provided the total weight does not exceed £oz. Printed Matter superscribed " Postcard."—Cards fulfilling the conditions of printed matter may pass at the rate for printed matter in New Zealand and to the United Kingdom although they bear the words " Post-card "Its a heading. POSrAL NOTES. Postal notes for fixed sums from Is up to .£5 are issued and paid at all Mpney Order Offices in New Zealand. These stamps must be affixed only by the sender or remitters of such postal notes. COMMISSION CHARGEABLE ON MONEY ORDERS. Commission on Money Orders issued in Now Zealand is charged according to the following scale:— BY TELEGRAPH. (Within New Zealand.) At the rates chargeable for orders by post and a telegraph fee of Is for each order. Money Order Telegrams can be sent as urgent upon payment of Is oh each order iui addition to the ordinary rates. Such telegrams will rate as Urgent Ordinary Telegrams., and be sent in the order of their receipt with other telegrams of the like code. The remitter of a M»ney Order Telegram may have a private communication for the payee added to the official telegram of advice on paying for the additional words at the following rates:— Ordinary, Id per word, with a minimum charge of 6d; urgent, 2d per wordj with a minimum charge of Is, which covers cost of urgent fee for private message and official telegram of advice. (Australia.) At the rates chargeable for orders by post and a telegraph charge at the rate for a message to the State upon which the Money Order is drawn.
