Pateena, for Wellington, this day, at 7 p.m. Arahura, for Nelson, this day, at midnight.* Pateena, for Nelson, Monday, at 7 p.m. Koonya, for Westport direct, Monday.

The s.s. Ngunguru and Waihi crossed the Wairau Bar last night, the former at 11 and the latter at ten minutes past, the sea being calm, but a very poor tide. f Yesterday, morning, on going out, the Opawa was tendered by a launch and piloted by Capt. Fisk, and although..she--.did not take the ground heavily,.there was a good deal or scraping. There is a well-defined channel at the, Bar, and if if keeps good, ought to be workable with even ordinary tides; but the present are the poorest' tides there have been for months.

Complaints have been made by the masters and owners of the river fleet as to some stakes and projections which have been : placed in " Harding's Bend" in the Opawa River, and yesterday the pilot, Capt. Fisk, was ordered by the Marine Department to visit the spot and report as to whether they were .dangerous to navigation. The launch "Challenger" was chartered, and Capt. Fisk made an inspection yesterday afternoon.

She was brought to Wellington ior the purpose of being.- laid up, but during the voyage across met with a mishap; which brought her under the notice of """the Customs. Mr Myers, for the prosecution, said that this was the first offence of the kind under the Act, and explained that1 there was no desire to have a heavy penalty imposed.
