-WELLINGTON, July 12. At n representative public meeting last night; the Hon. Mr Macdonald moved "that a national memorial be established to perpetuate the memory of Richard John Seddon, and that the Mayors and chairmen of all Local Bodies throughout the colony be invited to; join in the movement." Speaking; to the motion, Mr Macdonald fayortired the establishment of great scholarships, and said that he had no dtoubt the colony would for the present ' purpose gladly subscribe £100,000/ to mark the esteem and respect foif the late Premier.

NAPIER, July 12. A moderately attended meeting last evening /decided to raise funds with the obje/ct of perpetuating the memory of the late Premier. A resolution was also carried that the district cooperate lin a national memorial.
