OBITUARY.

MRS WILLIAM ADAMS, SENR

Another of the early pioneers has passed away, in the person of Mrs Adams, widow of the late Mr William Adams, of Langley Dale, Marlborough, the deceased lady breathing her last at Christchurch on the 15th inst., at the great age of 91. The late Mrs Adams was born in England in Waterloo year—lßl5—and cattli.out to the colony with her husband in ISbO. She resided in this district for many years, first at Redwood and afterwards at Langley Dale.

Mr Adams occupied the position of Commissioner of Crown Lands, and was the first elected Superintendent of the province of Marlborough. When he died he was buried at Langley Dale, and the remains of his widow are being brought from Christchurch to be laid beside those of her husband in the family cemetery. The interment will take place on Sunday at noon. Mrs Adams, who had resided for the past few years at Christchurch, leaves a family of four sons—Messrs Acton Adams, of Christchurch; John Langley Adams, of Stoke, Nelson; William Adams, or Langley Dale, Marlborough; and Percy Adams, the wellknown Nelson barrister and solicitor.
