It is expected to dispatch the Rakaia, of the New Zealand Shipping Company's fleet, from Picton to AN ellington to-night or early to-morrow morning. The rain of yesterday interfered with her loading at the treezing works, and this has delayed her departure. : The Union Company's steamer Wairuna was to leave Dunedin at noon to-' day for Picton, where she should put in a'ii appearance late to-morrow evenino-; She-is:to load barley for Sydney, for which port she will sail direct on Friday afternoon.
A'very, heavy'sea i s running on the Bar at' Greymouth, and a number of the U.S.S. Company's vessels are unable to get out in consequence. It is hoped to dispatch the Haupiri for Napier, and the Kini for Timaru today; and the Karitane for Lyttelton to-morrow. The Wainui got out yesterday afternoon, and after calling at Westport and Nelson should arrive at Picton about 11 o'clock to-morrow. She is timed to sail about noon for Wellington.
