Government tourist agents tront Canterbury and Auckland are now visiting the West Coast to make themselves with local routes to beauty spots. They purpose visting the southern glaciers, it is expected that there will be a largo influx oi visitors to the district during next season —the Exhibition period—and the idea is to have agencies avcll equipped with the fullest local knowledge of the locality so highly praised for its scenic wonders. The agents are already greatly impressed with the attractiveness of the lakes visited. GLSIiOLtNE, May 16. The Maori census for the Waiapn county shows an increase of popula-
